INTERNATIONAL
European
cooperation for
smart cities
As a European ecosystem, DMI stimulates innovation at the intersection of urbanization, sustainability, and digitization. We believe that technology—when applied in a socially responsible manner—is the key to creating more livable cities around the world.
digital transformation
everything for tangible
impact
DMI accelerates the digital transformation of cities by connecting people, data, and technology. As a European innovation ecosystem, we bring together governments, businesses, and knowledge institutions to build sustainable and future-proof cities.
We do this from a strong Dutch base. With an extensive network of (international) public and private partners, we leverage the power of digital twins, open standards, and federated systems. Everything for tangible impact.
We adhere to the "no wrong door" principle: through the Products and Services Catalog (PDC), you always have access to the full range of all marketplaces within the PDX of the DMI ecosystem.
European vision on digital cooperation
what we do
Whereas in other parts of the world market forces or central control predominate, DMI has consciously chosen the European approach: cooperation based on trust, openness, and social added value.
We are working on interchangeable solutions that are scalable and locally applicable. With respect for public values and democratic processes.
We bring parties together:
Governments
At the local, regional, and national levels
Companies
From international players to innovative SMEs
Knowledge institutions
Leading the way in research and digital innovation
collaborations
s digital pioneer
The Netherlands is a reliable partner in European and global cooperation. We have a strong reputation as a pragmatic, creative, and collaborative country. Our experience in urban development, water management, and ecology forms a solid basis for digital innovation.
From intelligent transport systems and chip cards for public transport to national basic registrations and digital twin architectures.
collaborations
Connected to
regions and hubs
worldwide
DMI collaborates with European regions such as North Rhine-Westphalia, Flanders, and the Benelux countries and is active within the EDIC Networked Local Digital Twins program, which includes eleven EU member states.
We are also building smart cities outside Europe, with partners in Scandinavia, India, Australia, the US, and Singapore.
Private parties such as Hyundai/KIA and Daimler, and collaborative programs such as Safety Priority Services and RoadMonitor contribute to concrete applications.
