In the data, we find answers for a livable city

Municipalities have a lot of data, but it is often scattered across departments, difficult to find or of unknown quality. At the same time, there are countless market players and knowledge institutions with valuable knowledge, applications and data. How do we bring supply and demand together? And in a way that is reliable, efficient and purposeful? At DMI, participants help each other. Together, we find the answers for a livable city in data.

why

Why do we bring that data together?

In cities, there are many issues that interact. From climate adaptation and housing construction to mobility and energy transition. Sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees. For municipalities it is essential to get a grip on this. By digitizing, you create insight. But for that you need data from various sources. Combined, you can see the connection. Especially if you present it in the right way.

Translating data into actionable information

what we do

If you translate data into useful information, you can make better-founded and more coherent decisions based on it. For example, about area development, mobility or logistics. At DMI, municipalities and companies work together to do just that: turn data into insight and turn insights into action.

The role of DMI

DMI provides overview and structure. What is available in terms of knowledge, data and tools? And how can we safely make these mutually available for use? With the Products & Data Exchange (PDX), data, applications and parties come together. Participants retain control over their data, but make it available for use under clear conditions and in a secure way. Thanks to automated monitoring of compliance with laws and regulations and mutual agreements, trust is created between the parties that work with it.

Faster better decision information

If you work at a municipality, it means you can gather better decision information faster and easier. You no longer have to act on outdated or limited available data, but can do so from coherent insights. Think of traffic models fed with current data from multiple sources. Or digital twins, with which you can quickly explore multiple scenarios for the layout of your city. Because you have insight into the possible consequences, you can make better choices.

What do you want with data?

Many municipalities know they want "something with data," but don't always have their question in focus yet. We are happy to help. This often starts with recognizing similar issues in other municipalities. We are happy to put you in touch. That connection creates not only recognition, but also cooperation. Municipalities learn from each other, build on each other's solutions and act together with market parties.

Adding real value as a company

DMI is not a classic marketplace where you come just to sell something. It is the basis for our ecosystem in which we collaborate in concrete terms. As a company you offer products and services, but you also develop new solutions together with municipalities and other parties. The PDX provides insight into who does what, what data is available and under what conditions. That makes it easier to find partners and build together on applications that really add value and make impact.

In short, by sharing data responsibly and using it intelligently, we can act faster, cheaper and more effectively. In doing so, we are working together on sustainable and livable cities.
